It's not about the quality of the writing, or even the story. This woman was fired from writing her own series for staying true to the characters that she created. The books are still going to be written, under her name, by a ghostwriter.
The moral of this: Read your contracts very, very carefully. Get other people to read it. Get an agent, a lawyer. Just be very, very careful.
